An elder statesman and a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Rear Admirer Mike Ojinika Onah Rtd, has advanced the reasons why he joined politics after 35 years of military career even as he described the Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme as a God sent to the Ndokwa nation.
Onah who spoke at his country home in Utagba-Uno, while playing host to the members of the Legislative Arm of Ndokwa West LGA, revealed that he joined politics to help right the wrongs in the society, bring development and protect the people against oppressive tendencies.
“In life there is nothing like speaking the truth. I hate oppression, I want liberty and freedom of the people at all times. Don’t allowed people to use you to oppress the people who are speaking the truth. Councillors should work together to sustain peace and unity, because life is vanity.
“The joy of life is unity and love. Unity is strength and power hence you should work with the Leader of the house. Don’t betray yourselves or your leader. Shun arrogant and pride because it doesn’t help any man.” He admonished the councillors.
Reacting on the emergence of, Sir Monday Onyeme as the deputy governor of Delta State, Chief Onah said; “Onyeme is a God sent, a very kind man, a great asset to the Ndokwa nation. He is someone to support, let us support him, Ndokwa has a good man in position now.”
Earlier, the spokesman of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Enebeli Precious had told Chief Onah that the Councillors were in his house to thank him over his leadership roles in Ndokwa nation especially for working for the emergence of the deputy governor from the LGA.
He equally informed him of the various projects that has been embarked upon by the council in the LGA saying the Executive and the Legislative Arm are working together for the timely execution of the various projects.
In a remark, Chief Jeffrey Azagba while commending the councillors for their initiatives, stressed the importance of building roburst relationship with the people noting that relationship matters a lot in politics.
He emphasised the leadership roles of Chief Onah in Ndokwa nation saying the elder statesman is now focused on pan Anioma agenda.
