The World Health Organisation (WHO) has agreed to work with the Delta State Advocacy Team ( SAT) implementing the COVID-19 Response Mechanism, Resilient and Sustainable System for Health and Community System Strengthening (C19RM/RSSH-CSS) in the state.
Delta State Director of WHO, Dr Faith Ireye, stated this when the team paid an Advocacy visit to her office in Asaba.
Dr. Ireye disclosed that they were always ready to partner with any group that wanted to ensure that people were healthy in a healthy environment.
The coordinator assured of their collaboration in providing interventions in immunisation, vaccination, provision of health related kits among other assistance in the various primary healthcare centres in the state to improve health standard.
She also noted that some of the centres were under utilised and needed more community based sensitisation for the people to effectively use the facilities, adding that in the course of thier duties, human rights issues should be considered.
“When people are trying to deliver care to clients, some violate human rights. People should be made to know thier rights and also respect that of others,” Dr Ireye Said.
Earlier, the State Advocacy Team lead by Pastor Greg Sifo briefed her of the activities of the team and requested for her office collaboration to achieve the desired goals.
