Warri South Local Government Area, Chairman, Dr Michael Tidi has called for the need for credible elections.
Dr Tidi made the call when he received the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government Affairs, Hon Joseph Itirhue on his one day advocacy/sensitization tour to Warri South Local Government Council.
Hon. Itirhue stated that the Governor, Senator Okowa who was well known for the pursuit of quality health for all Deltans was passionate about the proper functioning of the various Primary Healthcare Centres in the state
He further disclosed that, the governor had made efforts in offsetting backlog of salary arrears owed local government workers which speaks volume of the Governor’s sincere concern for the welfare of local government staff across the state.
The Special Adviser noted that the local government should pay specific attention towards creating a peaceful, harmonious and secure environment and effort should be geared towards ensuring the security of lives and properties.
He added that the worst days are behind us now and there is the need to be more focused on delivery the dividend of democracy to our people.
