The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the State have been reminded of the need to vote for candidates of the party from the presidency to the house of Assembly to enable the party regain lost positions in the 2019 general elections.
The State Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, gave the advice in Warri, at the Delta South PDP Senatorial meeting and reception of defectors from other political parties on Friday, 23rd November, 2018.
Barr. Otuaro, said a situation where party members are deceived to vote for candidates of other political parties at elections was anti-party and urged party faithful to uphold the party norms and do the needful at the 2019 elections.
The deputy governor who affirmed that PDP is on ground and deeply rooted in Delta, pledged Governor Okowa’s readiness to attract more dividends of democarcy to Deltans.
Barr. Otuaro, who was happy with the calibre of persons that defected from other political parties into the PDP, assured them that they will be given what is due them.
He equally thanked Deltans for the support given to the present administration and appealed to the people to remain peaceful for the accelerated transformation of all sectors of the state economy.
Receiving the defectors, the State PDP Chairman, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, thanked them for returning back to their original home and affirmed that the party’s umbrella was big and wide enough to accommodate all.
He pointed out that, PDP has all it takes to move the nation to the desired destination since the ruling party at the federal level has failed to fulfill all electioneering promises made to Nigerians in 2015.
The Delta South PDP Chairman, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, thanked the stakeholders, delegates and aspirants for their matured conduct in the last primaries which was adjudged to be the best adding that it was no victor no vanguish.
Prince Amgbaduba, congratulated candidates on their victory at the primary election and disclosed that very soon campaign committees will be inaugurated to market the party to the people at the grass roots.
He commended the Deputy Governor, Barr. Otuaro for his input and support in the growth of the party in the district.
Some opinion leaders from the district including, Chief Emmanuel Okumagba, Comrade Ovouzuorie Macauley, Chief Favour Izuokumor, Chief Joseph Otumara and Chief Veronica Tambowei said Governor Okowa has done well and deserved a second tenure just as former governors from Delta South and Central had two tenures each.
Some of the decampees said they decided to return from APC back to PDP because the party has failed in all areas and affirmed that they were impressed with the rebranded PDP.
They pledged to work for all candidates of PDP in the 2019 general elections.
The meeting featured introduction of candidates for the State and National assembly seats to the mammoth crowd drawn from the entire local government in the district.
