The University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA), Asaba Chapter, today Sunday, 30th October, 2022, held its biannual elections and elected new executives to pilot the affairs of the Alumni for the next two year in Asaba.
Those inaugurated includes Barr. Jacob Iduku Kagho, Chairman, Tom O. S Chukwuma JP, 1st Vice Chairman, Chief Tommy Kimashinor Nwakalor-Imu, 2nd Vice Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Dudu, Secretary and Mrs Stella Ezzeh as Assistant Secretary.
Others are Angela Nwaomu (Mrs), Treasurer, Wendy Odor (Mrs) Financial Secretary, Comrade Abel Johngold, PRO/Socio Secretary. While Damilola Awoyemi (Mrs), Pastor Jude Fejokwu and Dr. (Mrs) Felicia Nkem Adun, FNES JP, are Ex-Officio.
In his acceptance speech, Barr. J.I Kagho, the Chapter’s Chairman, said he was overwhelmed with joy for the support members of the UIAA gave him and for the confidence reposed in him by his election as Chairman and for the election of other executive members of the Asaba Chapter.
He expressed appreciation to members for making the Meeting hosted by alumnus Prince Samuel Adebolu at the resident of Sir Okey Offili, a successful one. Adding that “On my honour and on behalf of other elected officers, I assure you that by the end of our tenure, we would have taken the Asaba Chapter of UIAA a step higher than what it is today”.
According to Barr. Kagho, “our work starts from now and I have no illusion about the enormity of the task at hand, however, with your support, I have strong belief that the future of the Chapter is bright”.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Chief Tommy Kimashinor Nwakalor-Imu, stated, among other things, that all the inaugurated executive members of the Chapter were nominated and elected through a ‘Yes or No’ voice votes.
The high points of the event were the formal dissolution of the immediate past Dr. Felicia Adun (Mrs) led executive committee and inuaguration of the new committee through oath of allegiance taking administered by Dr. Tonye Timi (Ph:D.
Dr. Tonye Timi enjoined members to support the new executive committee of the Chapter in all ways to move the Asaba Chapter forward.
