Hon. Pastor. Engr Jonathaan Ahiroghene Ukodhiko, Member Representing Isoko Federal constituency comprising Isoko North/South Local Government Areas of Delta State has distributed Christmas gifts to Party Leaders, executives and support groups in his constituency as part of activities marking the festive season.
The distribution was done in his residence at Erawha-Owhe in Isoko North local government Area of Delta State.
Speaking during the distribution of the items, Hon. Ukodhiko said the gesture has been on for years even before he was elected as a member Representing the constituency.
According to him service to humanity is his passion stressing that it’s inbuilt hence the reason why it has been sustained till date.
The House of Representative member who said it is good for political leaders who are representing the people to have the fear of God in them and ensure they do the needful by protecting the interest of the people they are representing also, noted that it was for the above reason he contested for the position and called on all political leaders and the people to embrace love and unity to enable them attracts better opportunities.
Also speaking, the PDP chairman Isoko North local government Area and the immediate past chairman of Delta State land Allocation committee Hon. Elder Godwin Ogoruba commended the act by the Honourable member, stating that it is the responsibility of political leaders to reach out to the people they are representing.
Hon Ogoruba who confirmed that this gesture is inbuilt also said the act is not a favour but the right thing to be done by every political leader.
Hon. Ogoruba called on Federal Government to ensure an effective measure for better distribution of palliative to Nigerian citizens instead of unilateral cash transfer as the money does not get to those who are in need of it.
The items distributed include six hundred bags of rice, one hundred bags of salt some cartons of Indomie and wheel chairs.
Earlier, two hundred bags of rice were distributed to both Isoko North/South party members.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the market woman leader of Otor-Igho, Mrs Uyoyo Akpojene, expressed gratitude to Honourable Ukodhiko for extending a hand of fellowship to them and pray God to continue to guide him as he pilots the affairs of the constituency.
