Former Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Brewery plc, Elder Felix Ohiwerei, has emerged the Chairman of the University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA) Board of Trustees (BoT).
His emergence, which took effect yesterday, February 14, 2023 in Lagos, followed the resignation of Pa. Dr. Michael Omolayole, as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, UIAA, on the grounds of age.
Pa Omolayole is 94 years old.
In their separate comments, members of the UIAA BoT, including Pa. Dr Michael Omolayole, Elder Felix Ohiwerei and Maureen Bakare, who warmly welcomed the Prof. Saawua Gabriel Nyityo-led Exco of UIAA on a courtesy visit to the BoT to seek their wise counsel/advise, emphasized the need for selfless service to the Alumni Association and called on all members to rally round the new Exco by emphasizing the desire for unity and progress.
The BoT members spoke on the need to further entrench the process of the internationalization of UIAA and while stressing the need to cultivate goodwill among members, as well as, with other Alumni Associations, noted that UIAA does have goodwill and the Exco will need to build on that, even as they advised that wealth is not only measured in assets and cash but in goodwill as well.
The BoT who then took turns to pray for the success of the Exco and for God’s protection over the lives of the UIAA members, further admonished on the need for accountability on the part of the Executive Committee and also of every member of the Association.
