The President, University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA) Worldwide, Professor Saawua Gabriel Nyityo says there is no division or faction of any sort in the August Association.
Professor Nyityo stated this while addressing members of the Abia State Branch of the Association shortly after the burial of the former Chairman of the Branch, Chief Victor Agbugba, at Uzuakoli, Abia State.
According to the President Worldwide, members of the Branch should discountenance the propaganda being peddled about by some disgruntled elements that the Association is divided. He said he would not have been to Abia State physically if the Association is not together.
Professor Nyityo noted that he would work with them at all times and equally encouraged members of Abia State Branch to remain focused, united and work together to make the Branch stronger.
The UIAA President Worldwide, added that they should not allow the demise of Chief Agbugba to scatter them rather they should be resolute and committed to the Association for greater understanding among them.
He, however, commended them for trooping out in large numbers during the burial of their former Chairman whom he remarked, distinguished himself in the service of the Association.
Also speaking, the 1st Vice President Worldwide, Barrister Fidelis Mbadugha advised members of the Abia State Branch to avoid unnecessary bickerings and backbiting which he said, was not what the Association needs now.
Barrister Mbadugha condemned some faceless individuals with inordinate ambition who are going about confusing some people that University of Ibadan Alumni Association is factionalized. He maintained that they are only doing so for their pecuniary interests.
The Legal Luminary opined that the current National leadership of the Association is working assiduously to ensure that all branches and chapters are on the same page with high level of understanding and unity of purpose.
The Worldwide President of UIAA was also accompanied on the trip by the Legal Adviser, Barrister Ben-Chuks Udoh, First Assistant Secretary, Chief Uchemadu Abosi, First Ex-Officio, Chief Wale Alao and second Ex-Officio, Comrade Chris Obileri.
