It’s no longer a piece of news that Chief Great Ogboru has sealed all agreements for his return to the All Progressive Congress APC, the party he left before the 2023 general elections for his grievances with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege over leadership issues.
The 7th time’s governorship candidate under 5 different political parties between 2003-2023 is set for public declaration to join the APC at the Ughelli Kingdom Hall comes 9th March 2025.
The BIG question on the lips of many Deltans especially political analysts is whether; can chief Great Ogboru regain the people’s trust especially his followers considering the roles that played out in the last general elections where he was seen in the Delta Government House, chatting and dining with Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan and his opponent Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori of the PDP on same day and moment the gubernatorial elections results were announced declaring Sheriff as the winner.
We have seen contestants send congratulations messages to victors in electoral battles but in the case of Ogboru of the APGA to Gov. Sheriff of the PDP is unusual and generated a lot of questions from the public, especially his die-hard fans.
Also, the last 18 Months has been a romantic relationship between Chief Great Ogboru and the Delta PDP government as his son was appointed for the position of ‘Special Advisor’ by the governor, and the Man Great has been seen attending different State functions in the company of the Delta State governor and others big wings of the People Democratic Party.
Amid all these friendships of utility, how are we sure that the coming of Great Ogboru to the APC is genuine, to build and not destroy? A question that ponders the minds of the people.
Lastly, is Great Ogboru coming to tussle leadership power with Senator Omo-Agege on who gets the party gubernatorial ticket? If true, the party congress shall profile the answer to this.
Political victory ✌️ is not a one-man job. All men must come with clean hands to send PDP parking out from Osadebay House come 2027. Anything short of this will be efforts in futility.
