Training and retraining has been described as a required and necessary tool for achieving excellent leadership goals.
This was made known during a two day training workshop organized by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in collaboration with the consulting firm of Osita-Ojakovo and Associates for middle and senior management staff of the Board.
The training which was attended by 50 participants drawn from various departments in the Board, was held at the Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat Complex, Asaba.
According to the Chairman of the Board, Hon. sunny Ogwu, the training was organized towards improved productivity amongst staff and better service delivery.
While highlighting the gains of the capacity building workshop, Ogwu said that it was geared at improving work place skills, general employee wellness, culture and emotional intelligence of staff.
Ogwu who lauded the State Governor and Vice Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for his sustained human capital development efforts, stated that the governor’s support was hinged on ensuring self improvement in the workplace towards effective and excellent service delivery.
Mr. Charles Ojakovo, Principal Partner, Osita-Ojakovo Consultant, while also speaking, acknowledged the robust partnership between his consulting firm and the Board, and expressed satisfaction with the quality of training.
Mr. Ojakovo commended the Board on its capacity building initiative as well as the values the board attached to training toward achieving their goals.
