In a remarkable show of compassion and dedication to the welfare of his people, the Senator representing Jigawa Northwest Senatorial District, Dr. Babangida Hussaini (Walin Kazaure), has donated rice, millet, and cash assistance worth N300 million to indigent families across the 12 local government areas in his constituency as part of his Ramadan support programme.
The gesture, aimed at easing the hardship faced by vulnerable households during the holy month of Ramadan, reflects the Senator’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the living standards of his constituents and ensuring they observe the fasting period without undue financial burden.
Announcing the donation, Senator Hussaini said: “We are prepared to welcome the blessed month of Ramadan, and I am pleased to support my people by providing 3 trailer loads of rice and 3 trailers of millet. Each of the 12 local government areas will receive 150 bags of rice and 150 bags of millet to be distributed to indigent families across communities.
“Apart from the food items, a cash token of N25,000, N20,000, and N10,000 will also be given to selected beneficiaries to enable them to buy sugar and other essential ingredients needed to enjoy the holy month worshipping Allah.”

As part of his drive to promote economic empowerment and self-reliance, Senator Hussaini announced that 400 women across the senatorial district will receive N25,000 each to support their small businesses and improve their livelihoods.
“Women are the pillar of our communities, and empowering them is key to building a more prosperous society. This support goes beyond financial assistance – it is a step towards economic growth, self-reliance, and sustainable development,” he emphasized.
