Residents of Delta State have been assured of adequate security in this Yule tide and year 2022.
The Director General of Security in Delta, Hon David Tonwe gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen in Asaba.
Hon. Tonwe said the collaboration between Operation Delta Hawk and other security agencies like the Police, Army, Directorate of Security Services, the Navy, Airforce, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps as well as the Road Safety Corps have made the State unhealthy for miscreants to operate.
While thanking Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the maximum assistance to the security job of Operation Delta Hawk in the last one year since its establishment, the DG said timely information from stakeholders has led to the arrest and prosecution of hoodlums and solicited the usual cooperation of Deltans in keeping the State safe for all.
On the Abavo/Umutu/Eku road and other flashpoints were robbers laid siege in odd hours, Tonwe said his men were already at alert to ensure that no traveller or commuter in any part of Delta is robbed or kidnapped by miscreants.
He added that before Christmas, Sapele and entire Okpe area as well as Oghara, Mosogar and Jesse axis will be covered by Operation Delta Hawk in terms of security.
He said no effort will be spared in adequate policing of Ughelli, Udu, Effurun, Uvwie and their environs and warned those aiding and abetting criminal activities to desist or be ready to contend with the law.
The DG pointed out that plans have been concluded by different security agencies in the State to ensure free flow of traffic at the bridge head Asaba and other areas in the state where high vehicular activities is high during festive period.
Hon Tonwe said the activities of the state’s security outfit will be more aggressive in 2022 due to emerging security challenges in the country.
