The remains of Mrs Joy Adagu Agulefo ….omenwa (Nne Bu Ife) (nee Unachukwu), mother of wife of renowned Lagos based electrical appliances merchant, Rudolf Obi, was on Friday, August 16, 2019, committed to mother earth.
She was buried in her house at Ndi Osile in Ogbunike in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Mama Joy, as she was fondly called died on Thursday, May 23, 2019, at the age of 90. Until her death, she was an ardent Anglican, a woman of utmost faith in God. And was a dedicated member of St’ Marks Anglican Church Ogbunike, who contributed immensely to the growth of the Church which prompted them to honour her with the title “NNE BU IFE” which means “Mother is Light”
The colourful burial was attended by both nuclear and extended family members, top government functionaries, top politicians across the country, traditional rulers, clergies, religious groups, community leaders, friends and sympathizers, as well as other sociocultural groups from far and near.
In summary, Rudolf Obi, the renowned Lagos based electrical appliances merchant son In-law, noted that Mama was a woman of valour, dignity with strong resolve, a woman of inestimable value, a great disciplinarian, highly intelligent, a loving and caring mother to all around her.
Adding, “She was a giver per excellence. Mama will be greatly missed by all. Its a triumphant and glorious exit of our inestimable jewel.” He said.
