AGBOR.. As a way of upholding its tenet of rendering charitable acts towards the uplifting of humanity, the Vito Corsica Deck (Delta North Branch) of the National Association of Seadogs, aka Pyrates Confraternity, has donated books and some other instructional materials to the Ime-Obi Secondary School at Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Capon of the association, Engr. Emeka Okolo, stated that the gesture was to cushion the burden of purchases of the donated items on the shoulders of parents of the students in the school.
While charging the students to be serious with their studies, Engr Okolo, who pledged the continuous support and the wish of the group to play important role in the school, said “We are here to improve on your education by providing you with some text books and other instructional materials that would help impact knowledge on you when you make good use of them. The books are to enhance your educational pursuit.”
He thanked the principal of the school for giving the association the privilege to show love to the students through the donation.
Expressing appreciation for the charitable act, the principal of the school, Mr Victor Chuks Aworoh, who received the materials, thanked members of the Pyrates Confraternity for impacting on the education of the students, saying that posterity would remember them for the charitable gesture.
While urging well meaning Nigerians to emulate the Pyrates Confraternity’s humanitarian services, Aworoh lamented the shortage of teachers and lack of other learning amenities in the school.
The instructional materials comprised of about 200 copies of the English Language text books, 30 large white writing boards and 100 markers.
