Some 24 hours ago on the 29th of May 2023, Nigeria as the most populous black country on the planet earth, began the journey of a new dawn with the inauguration into office of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and Vice President Kashim Shettima (GCON) as the 16th Presidency of the federal republic of Nigeria in a ceremony in the federal capital territory Abuja witnessed live by Nigerians as well as representatives of the international community present and watched via media outlets.
The inauguration of Renewed Hope mandate of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima by all standards is an unequivocal affirmation of the Nigerian people’s resolve and tenacity in keeping faith with democracy despite the turbulent global economic challenges as well as the fallout of the acrimonious political campaigns and sloganeering that pervaded the political space before, during and even after the elections.
As Nigerians and the rest of the world savour the joy of a new dawn with the inauguration of the will of the people Renewed Hope mandate from the successful, free, fair, transparent and credible 2023 presidential polls as attested to by local and international election observers, it is expected that in line with the promise of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), his administration will hit the ground running as expected for the birth of a new dawn of peace, progress and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Before we go further, it is only appropriate that we appreciate and give glory to God for the unprecedented infrastructural legacy and other landmark achievements of the immediate administration of President Muhammadu Buhari whose indelible footprints is permanently etched in our political history.
As President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) and Vice President Kashim Shettima (GCON) and other newly elected administrations at the states begin another chapter in our democratic journey, it is expected that Nigerians will jettison their primordial sentiments of divisiveness and focus on holding the elected administrations at all levels, accountable for good governance to the collective benefits of the people.
The continued recourse to political bickering after the conclusion of elections and inauguration of the winners into office is unhealthy for our democracy, rather the inauguration should be seen as a wake up call to the electorate to engage constructively and intellectually for a better society rather than the promotion of parochialism, pettiness and infantilism by political interest as a result of electoral defeat at the polls.
The new dawn of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) administration and others, presents a perfect opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on our democratic journey so far and interface with the new administration to chart the path to peace, progress, nationhood and economic prosperity as propounded by Mr President in his inaugural speech which is highly inspiring and commendable.
As we open this chapter of a new dawn in democratic process, it is our hope and prayers that the new administrations will put in place measures and implement programmes that will impact positively on the economic and political fortune of the people to the glory of God and benefit of humanity.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Thank you.
Yours Sincerely,
