As the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is set to flag of its 2019 campaign, Comrade Emomotimi Guwor, the candidate for the Warri South West constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly 2019, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has assured members of his constituency that governance will be a new system of effective and quality representation.
The Warri South West PDP House of Assembly flag bearer gave the assurance when he paid an appreciation visit to political leaders of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri.
Comrade Guwor, who was received by Chief Wellington Okrika (JP), Chief Jonathan Ari (JP), Chief Satchy Etoromi and other leaders, women and youths, thank the people for their support and assured them of sponsoring bills that will be favourable to the constituency if he emerge victorious at the 2019 election.
According to him; “Part of my focus, of course, will be to sponsor bills that will be favourable to the people. Apart from sponsoring bills, I will also look at drawing out empowerment programmes. “This is because at the end of the campaigns, most times, these vital issues that bring about development of our people are being forgotten.
But this time, I assure you, it will not be the same old story, it will be a new system where we will reach out to the people and draw out programmes that will be beneficial to them. “Programmes like youth and women empowerment. We will try and give scholarships to indigent students, those who are less privileged, we will definitely try to take them along as well as reach out to everyone.” He said.
Emomotimi, who is an indigene of Gbaramatu Kingdom thanked the people of the kingdom for their support during the PDP’s primary election in which he emerged as candidate to represent Warri South West.
He words; “In the House of Assembly primary elections, I was elected and the people that voted for me are Ijaws of Gbaramatu, Ogbe-Ijoh, Isaba, Diebiri, as well as the Itsekiris. And as we all know, when someone does something for you, it is good to say ‘thank you’ to the person. And it is on this note that I say ‘thank you’ to all the people of my constituency”.
Responding on behalf of Gbaramatu leaders, Chief Dogood Okrika, assured the PDP flag bearer that the people have accepted his appreciation and are solidly behind him. He added that they will deliver the votes that will ensure he emerges victorious at the general polls.
Also, the ward leader of Gbaramatu ward, Sir Wellington Uduboh, use the ocassion to called on political elites of the kingdom to ensure that they make themselves available so as to give ear to issues that need their attention in the kingdom.
