The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District and Chancellor of the Sports University of Nigeria (SUN), Idumuje-Ugboko, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has said that the pattern of winning by the PDP in all elections in Aniocha North, Delta State and beyond since 1999 is a reflection of the people’s massive support for the party.
Nwoko made this submission while monitoring the Local Government elections in Aniocha North on July 13, 2024, with particular appearance at Idumuje-Unor, Issele-uku and Onicha-Olona polling centres.
At Idumuje-Unor where he met with leaders of the party, including the incoming Vice Chairman, Lady Nneka Dibia, the former LGA Party Chairman, Ogbuefi Nnamdi Mohanye and the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Media, Comrade Norbert Chiazor; Ned Nwoko appreciated the people for their massive support for the PDP over the years.
He assured them that the set of persons coming in to lead the government at the grassroots are well known people of proven integrity that would change the narrative at that level.
At Issele-uku where Nwoko met a graceful politician and Majority Leader of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Emeka Nwaobi, he described him as his younger brother whom he is proud of and would continue to enjoy the latitude of working with.
While on a wide range of discussions with the Honorable Member representing Aniocha North Constituency, Nwoko feted the voting population when they all echoed their support for the Bill on the creation of Anioma State.
He therefore encouraged them to keep faith with him as he continues to pursue the mandate of Anioma people in terms of creating a new state, which by all discourses and arguments had dated back to over fifty years.
In another milestone appearance at the polling unit of the incoming Chairman of the Council, Hon. Emma Bazim Chinye, Senator Nwoko spoke of his meticulous competence and capacity to deliver on the mandate of administering Aniocha North Local Government.
He affirmed that Emma Chinye was a consensus candidate with no dissenting voice, thereby urging all and sundry to render him the needed support and cooperation to pilot the affairs of the Council.
In a nutshell, while the creation of Anioma State continues to gather momentum, more of the Anioma stakeholders are being convinced of the true intentions behind the Legislative agitation for its realization.
Optimistic of all round victory for the People’s Democratic Party in the Council Election, Prince Ned Nwoko assured the people of better days ahead, with regards to working in synergy with all to achieve a better transformed and developed Senatorial Zone.
Already, according to him, “Oko road is in the budget to benefit a #30 billion road construction project while Okpai Power Plant will enjoy a step down to guarantee maximum electricity supply within the Zone.
“As for Ogwashi-Uku dam, it is almost completed with reticulation to boost water supply across the Aniocha/Oshimili areas. We have done several empowerment programmes and we are not resting on our oars to attract dividends of democracy to our people”, Nwoko posited.
Moreover, closely coordinating the movements of the Senator with regards to the election monitoring was his Chief of Staff and former SSA to the Governor on Health Monitoring, Dr Michael Nwoko.
