Like a drowning man clutching at straws, the Ogun State PDP has once again exposed itself as a party gasping for relevance. Their latest tantrum over the Federal Government’s takeover of TASUED is nothing but the wailing of political jesters who have long lost touch with governance and reality. Rather than engage in meaningful discourse, they have chosen to dance naked in the marketplace of absurdity, spewing baseless propaganda against a government that is actively transforming Ogun State.
Chief Obafemi Awolowo once said, “The children of the poor you fail to train will never let your children have peace.” This timeless wisdom is precisely why Governor Dapo Abiodun prioritizes education, ensuring the sustainability of institutions like TASUED through a strategic upgrade to federal status. The PDP, on the other hand, in its trademark ignorance, mistakes progress for failure—much like a blind man who ridicules the sunrise simply because he cannot see it.
But let us remind these merchants of falsehood of the truth they so desperately try to suppress:
Education is thriving—over 1,000 schools renovated, digital learning introduced, and Ogun State producing some of Nigeria’s top-performing students.
Infrastructure is booming—from the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport to strategic road networks connecting businesses to prosperity.
The economy is soaring—with over $1 billion in new investments, Ogun State is the investors’ haven that the PDP could never build.
Healthcare is rejuvenated—over 100 primary healthcare centers upgraded, and affordable health insurance now within reach of the common man.
Awolowo also said, “Only the deep can call to the deep.” The PDP, however, has neither depth nor direction. Like a broken drum, they make the loudest noise but offer no rhythm, no solutions—just a desperate bid to deceive the people who have long rejected their backward politics.
The truth is clear: while Governor Abiodun is laying the foundation for a prosperous Ogun State, the PDP remains a relic of mediocrity, clinging to outdated tactics of deception and baseless outrage. They are like a man who abandoned his farmland, only to return years later to curse the neighbour who cultivated it. Ogun people have moved on, and no amount of empty wailing can drag them back into the past.
Governor Abiodun is building a legacy of impact, and history will remember those who constructed bridges to the future—not those who stood at the riverbank, throwing stones in frustration. The PDP’s crocodile tears cannot wash away the visible progress in Ogun State. The people know better, and the verdict is clear: progress is marching forward, leaving the failures of the past in the dust.
