The Secretary to the Delta State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, has said that PDP Delta Mandate is a group made up of people with like minds bonded in unity and purpose.
Chief Ukah, who spoke during a meeting of the group in Asaba, said that the body is a political pressure group in the state committed and dedicated to ensuring that the state governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, finishes strong.
He advised those who are already jumping gun ahead of the 2023 governorship election in the state to retrace their steps and be patient until a decision is made.
Also speaking during the meeting, the National President, PDP Delta Mandate, and Senior Political Adviser to the Governor, Chief Isaac Anwuzia, said the pressure group, with members drawn from the 25 local government areas, believe strongly in Governor Ifeanyi Okowa whose outstanding performance has made the people proud, adding that they were working within the confines of the PDP.
Chief Anwuzia said the group was based on grassroots mobilization, hence the meeting was to introduce members at the grassroots, emphasizing that the choice of executive was formed after extensive consultations.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace and Conflict Resolution, Chief Edwin Uzor, and Hon. Funkekeme Solomon commended the calibre of people that make up the group, and advised members to follow up in their various local government areas as the election approaches, and to wait patiently for the directives of Governor Okowa to enable them make informed decisions come 2023 elections.
The meeting, which was attended by PDP leaders from across the state, featured briefings from the three senatorial districts and the inauguration of its executive at the local government level with a charge to work together to ensure Governor Ifeanyi Okowa finishes strong.
