Agents of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have on Saturday taken to Okandeji Street to solicit votes for the Party’s governorship candidate, Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori with a promised sum of N200,000 as a reward.
Okandeji Street is in the Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The agents whose names were not disclosed said that voters in the residents of the area should make the wise choice by voting for Sheriff Oborevwori as Delta State governor come March 18, 2023.
“Watin make us come here today na to come to meet una tell una to say make una vote for Sheriff Oborevwori as the next governor of our State.
“Sheriff na good man and we go drop N200,000 for both the men and women wey dey this street so abeg make una make sure say, una vote for am.
Make una no vote APC oo, they no get anything to offer una,” he said in pidgin.
It was gathered that the promised N200,000 was not per individual but it was to be shared among the 200 people who wrote down their names and phone numbers
However, some of the residents of the street who queued up to write down their names and phone numbers, said that no matter the amount that would be transferred to them, they will still go to the poll and vote for the candidate of their choice.
One of the residents identified as Precious said, “I’m not sure each person will receive more than N1000; because about 89 women and 75 men wrote down their names.
“So if you divide the money among the 164 persons that write down their names, one person won’t get more than N1000 including PoS charges.
