A young Nigerian pastor, who’s name and church name is withheld has found himself at the center of controversy after refusing to return N900,000 that was mistakenly deposited into his account by a church member.
The pastor was arrested by security operatives after allegedly refusing to refund the church member who mistakenly transferred N1 million instead of N100,000 to his account.
According to reports gathered, the church member realized the error immediately and notified the pastor, explaining that the intended transfer was supposed to be N100,000.
Despite the prompt notification, the pastor insisted that the N900,000 that topped the money now belonged to God and could not be refunded.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the pastor can be seen defending his decision, claiming that the excess funds belong to God.
A source who spoke to our correspondent on the condition of anonymity said: “Pastor received N1,000,000 in his account instead of N100K, and he refused to send back the N900,000 that topped the money.
“The church member notified him immediately that he mistakenly sent 1m instead of 100K, but the pastor insisted that the money belonged to God.
“The money belongs to God,” he stated, as he refused to return the N900,000 surplus.
