Less three days to the University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA) Valedictory Lecture in honour of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, former Federal Minister of Information and Chairman, Delta State Advisory Council, Prof. Sam Ejite Oyovbaire, has been unveiled as the Chairman of the occasion.
The Chairman of the UIAA Valedictory Lecture Organizing Committee, Dr. Augustine Isikwei Ojogbo FCVSN JP, disclosed this today in Asaba, Delta State, that the lecture will be a gathering of who-is-who in Delta State and UIAA as they have resolved to honour Governor Okowa for being an unblemished Ambassador of the University of Ibadan and a member of the Association’s Board of Trustees (BoT).
Dr. Ojogbo noted that the Lecture Committee were very excited that Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of Delta State University Abraka, would be Chairman of the UIAA Valedictory Lecture For Okowa.
According to Ojogbo “The erudite scholar, Prof. Oyovbaire is a prominent Nigerian who have been contributing to global development through his intellectual works even before being promoted to the rank of Professor at the University of Benin and to being appointed a Federal Minister by then military President Ibrahim Babaginda. He is a pride of Delta and loved by Nigerians.
“Again, the renowned Prof. was carefully chosen to Chair the UIAA Valedictory Lecture because of the title of the lecture which is ‘THE BURDEN OF LEADERSHIP’ which has been Nigeria’s main challenge and Oyovbaire having held so many leadership positions in the country is best for the Chairman”.
While calling on Deltans and beyond to attend the UIAA Valedictory Lecture For Okowa that it’s going to be impactful, Dr. Ojogbo added that “Another pride of Delta who is a successful private and public sector expert, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, Chief Economic Adviser to Delta State Government, will deliver the lecture. The lecture shall hold on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba at 2pm”.
Guests are expected to be seated by 1:30pm, before the arrival of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the Guest Lecturer.
