The Okparan-Uku of Owa-Alidinma Community in Ika Northeast Local Government Area of Delta State, Elder Goddy Obiyian, has cried out over lack of electricity supply and other infrastructural development in his Community.
Elder Obiyian, who made this known in chat with newsmen at Owa – Alidinma has been in total black out for over six years.
According to him, the Community has on several occasions, visited the office of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC in Agbor to lay their complain about the lack of power supply, till date nothing has done to rectify the challenges, despite all the promises they made to them.
The Okparan-Uku, noted that the issues of our light challenge started in 2016, when we were disconnected from the people of Ekuku-Agbor Community and since then till now, we have been battling with it.
“We want t use medium to appeal the BEDC and concerned authorities to help restore our light so that we will start enjoying electricity like other communities”
“Our people have resorted to running power generators for all these years and the economy of the community has become very high due to continued black out” he stated.
Speaking further, he noted that many business owners and youths in particular have relocated from the community.
While saying that members of Owa-Alidinma Community are majorly PDP members, he said that is why I am appealing to the state Government to also come to our aid because most of our major roads are written off.
“like that of the Pan Ocean Company road, another one is the road that leads to the express from the residence of our late Okparan-Uku, Elder Nmonye Agbotean and others” he stated
While commending Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the good works he has done across the State, the Okparan-Uku ureged all illustrious sons and daughters of the community to always come home to develop their home.
