The Delta State information machinery today revved with fresh impetus following the resumption of Dr Ifeanyi Osuoza as the state’s spokesman and Commissioner for Information.
Recall that Dr Osuoza, the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was earlier inaugurated by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori after he was verified by the state House of Assembly to steer the information ministry.
Upon his resumption, Dr Osuoza kicked the ground running by committing the ministry, its staff and its activities into God’s hands while seeking divine intervention in the propagation of the MORE Agenda.
Addressing staff members of the information ministry, Dr Osuoza pledged to deepen the dissemination of the government’s policies, programs and projects, even as solicited the cooperation of staffers to realize the vision.
Osuoza added that he would improve the synergy with the image makers and journalists to counter fake news and speculations, adding that he would also open collaborations with other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to propagate the triumphs of Governor Oborevwori.
While welcoming the commissioner, the functioning Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Lucky Omokri, introduced him to the directors and staff members of the ministry, even as he expressed gratitude that the information ministry would be restored to its place of pride with Osuoza at the helm of affairs.
Consequently, the State Council Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Churchill Oyowe and his counterpart from the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Comrade Stella Macaulay, among others, congratulated the commissioner on his appointment and resumption.
During the prayer session, Rev Chucks Nwani thanked God for the emergence of Osuoza to lead the state’s information architecture, even as he prayed for divine enablement on the commissioner to effectively and efficiently discharge his assignment.
Rev Nwani expressed confidence in Osuoza’s capacity to deliver on his new portfolio, describing him as bold, resilient and compassionate. Nwani likened Osuoza’s elevation to the story of David in the Bible who found favor in God’s sight.
However, Nwani charged Osuoza to continue leading in the fear of God as he has sufficiently demonstrated by resuming office with prayers and thanksgiving. Consequently, the cleric asked God to grant Osuoza the wisdom and understanding to pilot the affairs of the ministry and its parastatals in line with the expectations of his principal; the governor.
In very strong terms, Nwani prayed against likely negative forces and influences that may attempt to sway or distract the commissioner from realizing his goals and objectives.
In the same vein, the commissioner’s aunty, Mrs Tina Okelue prayed that the commissioner would not falter or stumble in the cause of discharging his new assignment, adding that his conduct would always glorify God.
