As part of its strategic efforts in rebuilding Ndemili Grammar School, Ndemili, Ndokwa West LGA, the Old Students Association, NGOSA, has lined up activities to celebrate the institution golden jubilee celebrations.
According to a statement issued by the, Ndemili Grammar School Old Students Association NGOSA, President, Barr. Mrs. Margaret Osogbue and the Chairman, Golden Jubilee Planning Committee, Chief Famous Iduh, the celebration will commence on 15th, September with One hundred million naira (N100,000,000) fundraising event holding at Jace-Darl Hotel and Suites, of Okpanam bypass, Okpanam, Asaba, Delta State.
The statement added that the anniversary celebration will hold on 16th September, at the school premises, Ndemili, Ndokwa West LGA., noting that the anniversary celebration will end on 17th, September 2023 with a Thanksgiving Service at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ndemili followed by gifts presentation to the elderly in the community.
The celebration which has as it theme; DEGRAM: A Rebirth, will be Chaired by, HRM Enyi Friday Abaja, The Ukwata 1 of Umukwata Kingdom, who is also the Chief Launcher while His Excellency, Sir Monday Onyeme, Deputy Governor, Delta State is the Most distinguished guest of honour.
The press statement pointed out that, Ndemili Grammar School Old Students Association NGOSA has taken responsibility to change the narrative for good and restore the lost glory of the school.
“The association decided to use the occasion of the golden jubilee to chart a future and restore the lost glory of the school. Part of activities marking the golden jubilee was the N100m fund raising initiative. The funds would be used to launch a Scholarship Trust Fund at NDEGRAM, to sponsor indigent, bright and exceptional students and also serve as an interventionist fund for financing the registration of students for Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) at NDEGRAM.
“The fund will also be deployed for provision of power generating set for electricity supply in the school, provision of water facilities for adequate hygiene, deployed strategic programmes that will improve teaching and learning, and other critical facilities like standard science laboratory, ICT and CBT examination centres as well as principal, vice principal, staff and corps members lodge.”
The association appealed to all the old students, well meaning individuals, government and corporate organisations to join hands in the project of rebuilding the school.
Other dignitaries expected at the fund raising event will include; “Father of the day: Okwa Barr. C.I. Egwuenu, former vice chairman, platform petroleum limited. Excellent Guest of Honour and Mother of the Day, Her Excellency, Deaconess Tobore Oborovwori, first lady and wife of the executive governor of Delta state.
“Distinguished guests of honour, Her Excellency, Ezinne Catherine Onyeme, wife of the deputy Governor, Delta state, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, former Governor, Edo state.
