DELTA State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, has charged organisations to carry out development projects.
The Deputy Governor, gave the charge on Tuesday in Asaba when members of the International Association of Lions Club, District 404 A4, Asaba Phase II Lions Club, paid him a congratulatory visit.
He disclosed that he benefited in several ways as a member of Lions Club and that organisations can do a lot in making the society better.
According to Onyeme, “Lions Club is a grooming ground for people.
“The Club helped in shaping my life which is an addition to making my political career easy.
“Organisations and individuals should be involved in development projects so that we can collectively, make our society better than we met it.”
He assured organisations and individuals of the support of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration for them to succeed.
Earlier, the President of the Club, Lion Emeka Egwele, said that the visit was to rejoice with the Deputy Governor, a great Lion on his successful assumption of office.
Egwele, appealed to the State Government not to relent in supporting humanitarian groups.
Also speaking, a former Head of Service in the State, Sir. Okey Ofili, said, “Deltans are lucky to have you as Deputy Governor, because of your prowess and capacity to deliver on any given assignment; this you have demonstrated in your previous positions both in the private and public sectors.
“You are the forerunner of the campaign against open defecation which the world is sensitizing on today.
“Your projects during your tenure as Governor of the District Lions Club are still very relevant today; we are convinced that you are a good ambassador of the Lions Club, your Church, your Community, Ndokwa Nation and Delta State.
“You will impact on Deltans positively,” Ofili said.
