National Coordinator, Niger Delta Grassroots Organization, NDGO, Comrade Weyinmi Olley has appealed to Itsekiris aggrieved at the enstoolment of Tsola Emiko as Atuwatse111, Olu of Warri, last year to now leave issues of right to verdict of our ancestors, indeed God, withdraw pending court suits and promote progress.
“Progress is a function of peace which comes from forgiving hearts. It is my plea that the Olu of Warri, HRM Tsola Emiko, would also play father to all Itsekiri and be magnanimous to forgive and embrace aggrieved and prodigal sons on return”, Olley pleaded.
“I am impressed with the recent peace moves embarked on by the Olu in forging bonds of friendship beyond Warri Kingdom. I also think the advise of Abe 1, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Sideso, during the Olu’s visit that he (Olu) should mend fences with aggrieved subjects over his enthronement is apt so all Itsekiri would support him to succeed in his peace moves to guarantee progress in the land. Warri Kingdom should move as one”, Olley submitted.
“I have been a keen observer of events since the succession crisis begun and severally spoke into it for peace. Let me at this juncture please appeal to aggrieved Itsekiri sons and daughters to now kindly withdraw cases in Court over the Olu throne and leave issues of right or wrong to the verdict of our ancestors, nay God, for peace and progress to flourish in the land. Court victories do no necessarily guarantee peace which is paramount for our progress”, Olley advised.
“It is my considered opinion that the Emiko family, which presently occupies the throne in trust for the Itsekiri people should close ranks and thereby forge a united Itsekiri people under our respected crown”, Olley urged.
