The Delta State Security Trust Fund has issued a strong condemnation following the cowardly attack that resulted in the tragic loss of 16 military personnel along the river bank of Okuama community in Ewu Kingdom, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State. Expressing solidarity with the affected families and communities, the Chairman of the Trust Fund, Honorable Barrister Daniel Mayuku, conveyed deepest sympathies and emphasized the sacrifice and bravery of the fallen soldiers.
The incident, deemed a despicable act of aggression, has prompted urgent calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to dialogue to address underlying issues. Recognizing the need for unity and cooperation among stakeholders, including government authorities, community leaders, and concerned citizens, the Trust Fund stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to restore peace and stability in the affected areas.
