The Delta State Government has enjoined volunteers on health-related activities to deliberately synergise in creating productive opportunities to assist the government to eradicate diseases from the state.
The State Epidemiologist, Dr. Mildred Okowa stated this when members of the State Advocacy Team (SAT) implementing the COVID-19 Response Mechanism, Resilient and Sustainable System for Health and Community System Strengthening (C-19RM/RSSH-CSS).
Okowa said that she would want to work with the group so as to effectively achieve needed results from the various communities by knowing the essence of the group and how they could support them.
She advised them to constantly synergise with other health volunteers, community based organisations (CBOs) and non-government agencies (NGOs) in the state, saying that if there was strategic coordination among the various health-related volunteers in the field, the impact would be greatly visible.
The state epidemiologist promised to welcome all relevant initiatives that could help to reasonably reduce diseases from the society and that could promote a healthy environment.
Earlier, the State Program Officer of C-19RM/RSSH-CSS, Miss Juliet Obiajulu revealed the success stories from the five primary health care (PHC) centres where they were implementing the services.
