The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Campaign Council in Delta State says Governor Ifeanyi Okowa was seeking reelection because of his excellent performance and constitutional right to go for second term
The Director General of the party’s campaign council Hon. Funkekeme Solomon who stated this while briefing the press on the campaign itinerary noted that the infrastructural strides of the governor in the last three years have made it possible for the governor to seek for reelection.
He equally noted that other reasons why the governor was seeking reelection was that the zoning arrangement in the state was in his favour since he came from Delta North Senatorial district, adding that there is unwritten agreement in the state that the governorship should rotate round the three senatorial districts which made it possible for Delta South and Delta Central to govern the state eight years each since 1999.
He affirmed that Deltans were satisfied with the achievements of Senator Okowa in the area of peace building and infrastructural development as well as human capital development
He added that the governor has constructed 400 roads with over 1000 kilometres of drainages in addition to the Completion of the Stephen Keshi stadium and the Asaba International airport projects which are considered as star projects.
