There is a common saying that “political Parties are like maternity; while some people are going in, some are going out”. Also, by virtue of Section 40 of the 1999 Constitution as amended, every Nigerian has inalienable right to freedom of association.
It was in exercise of his right and the yearnings of his people, Distinguished Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi, after due consultations with majority of the people in Delta North Senatorial District, defected to APC last week. Delta APC and Deltans are not unaware of the fact that there have been orgies of defections from PDP to APC in recent times due to the Pharaonic attitude of the managers of PDP, which their members are tired of.
It is not in doubt that Sen. Nwaoboshi’s defection to APC was received by PDP leadership with shock, because same dealt a great blow to the crumbling PDP and its followership. While majority of the Aniomas applauded the move, PDP leadership resorted to names calling!
Unfortunately for the PDP and its hallelujah boys, Delta APC and the respected Senator were not perturbed by PDP’s rantings. However, to avoid some members of the public being mislead by PDP names calling, we want to state unequivocally that there is no legal or moral burden hanging on Distinguished Sen. Nwaoboshi. The allegations of financial misappropriation that was pending at the High Court in Lagos State have been laid to rest, as Sen. Nwaoboshi was recently discharged and acquitted of all counts against him by the said Court.
Delta PDP, having realized that their attempt to portray Sen. Nwaoboshi in bad light before Deltans had failed, have now resorted to unholy plots to make the remainder of the tenure of Sen. Nwaoboshi at the National Assembly unattractive. Information at the disposal of APC is that meetings are being held by the Governor, Dr. Okowa and PDP top-notch to bring down Sen. Nwaoboshi on his knees.
Part of the outcomes of the devilish meetings is the commissioning of political hallelujah boys to continue to sponsor false accusations and/ or write unfounded stories against Senator Nwaoboshi. Also, some leaders in each of the LGAs that make up Delta North were directed to collect signatures of Electorates in the Senatorial District for the purpose of recalling the performing Senator. Though, they know that that option is not practicable, but because they want to distract Sen. Nwaoboshi by every means possible, they are still hell-bent on carrying out the shameful plot.
Another order given to PDP Leaders in the LGAs that make up Delta North is that anything that tend to endear Sen. Nwaoboshi to the people, particularly his determined attraction of infrastructural developments to Delta North or anywhere in the State should be frustrated. Hence, some commissioned PDP never-do-well in Ndokwa Nation are hell-bent in frustrating the establishment of a Federal University in Aboh area of the State.
Though, we believe that the love and support of the commoners in Ndokwa Nation for Sen. Nwaoboshi will help in bringing to fruition, the establishment of the University; which its Bill had passed second reading in the National Assembly.
The Governor and some of his close allies have also reached out to some lawyers in the State and Benin City, for the purpose of going to Court to seek for the declaration of the seat of Sen. Nwaoboshi vacant because he chose to pitch his tent with APC. In order to hasten the condemnable plot, some of their sympathizers in the judiciary are being reached out to! They will all fail, and disgrace shall be their portion.
Delta APC wants to sound it loud and clear that Sen. Nwaoboshi is not responsible for the political misfortunes plaguing PDP in Delta State. Govr. Okowa and his political Marauders should look inward because they are the problems of their Party. It is preposterous of them to think that the misgovernance being dished out to Deltans on a daily basis is not enough reason for any sane mind to go to where his interest and the interest of his people can be better protected!
PDP should stop its political shenanigans and deliver real and quality dividends of democracy to Deltans. Attacking and/ or trying to bring down Distinguished Sen.
Nwaoboshi is a wild goose chase. Deltans will not support political vendetta.
