The appointment of Apostle Sylvanus Okorote and Rev Dr. Chris Ekabo, as Chairman and Secretary of Delta State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, has been described as well deserved, and a further testament to the visionary leadership of the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
Executive Assistant on Orientation and Communication to the Governor, Dr (Barr) Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe, made the assertion on Saturday, in a goodwill message to Apostle Okorote, Rev Ekabo and all newly appointed members of the State Christian Pilgrims and Welfare Board, saying that the state will accomplish tremendous results in interdenominational spiritual upliftment and Pilgrims welfare under the new leadership.
He noted that Apostle Okorote and Rev Ekabo, are well grounded in the MORE agenda of the governor, and had worked extensively during the 2023 governorship election to ensure that governor Oborevwori remained the best choice of majority of eligible Christian voters, through impactful and consistent advocacy for continuity in good governance from the immediate past governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, to the incumbent governor.
Oghenesivbe, who is also the Head of Delta State Orientation Bureau, DSOB, further stated that governor Oborevwori through the various well deserved appointments has again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to partner with all Christian denominations in the state, as reflected in the spread of membership of the new board across the three senatorial districts.
“Management and Staff of Delta State Bureau of Orientation, and the Office of the Executive Assistant on Communication to the Governor, heartily congratulate the Chairman and Secretary of Delta State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Apostle Sylvanus Okorote and Rev Fr Chris Ekabo, as well as other newly appointed board members.
“It is worthy of note that both Okorote and Ekabo are deeply rooted in the MORE agenda of the governor, as can be seen from their actions and inactions towards the landslide victory of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and governor Oborevwori at the polls on March 18, 2023.
“The new board chairman and secretary, as well as other members of the State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, are genuine supporters of the governor and this administration, and as such, enviable results shall be achieved in terms of foreseeable well organized pilgrimages to the holy lands of Israel, Rome and Jordan, as well as galvanizing all Christians in the State to work and pray for the ongoing implementation of the MORE agenda of governor Oborevwori.
“The governor is very much concerned and passionate about the spiritual upliftment of our people and sustained peaceful coexistence among Christians, which is why he appointed religious leaders of integrity from diverse religious groups and denominations across the three senstorial districts to serve in the board.
“I wish Apostle Okorote, Rev Ekabo and all newly appointed members of the State Christian Pilgrims Wlefare Board a peaceful, progressive and impactful tenure, while praying God Almighty to grant them greater wisdom, good health and longevity to serve Delta State and humanity,” Oghenesivbe said.
