Immediate Past Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, Comrade Patrick Ochei has congratulated the immediate past Chairman of the Union, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu over his appointment as Senior Special Assistant (Media) to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, affirming that it is a well deserved appointment.
Ochei commended the Governor for the extension of his benevolence to the NUJ in the State, stating that Ikeogwu has joined the class of a privileged past Union leaders making headlines in the Governor’s media team.
He further eulogized Ikeogwu as a strong, focused and eventful leader who made his mark as Chairman of NUJ Delta State Council, thereby endorsing his capacity to contribute in bringing value to the system.
His words, “I worked with him as his Vice Chairman and Secretary. I know the stuff he is made of, and I know that this appointment is as a result of the capacity and forcefulness the Governor had seen in him.
“So, I say without equivocation that Comrade Ikeogwu deserves this appointment. All I can say is to urge him to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the team while working with others in synergy, to help promote the achievements of the Governor to the world. The Governor has done so much within a short time in office, and he deserves a spotlight every inch of the way.
“Once again, I congratulate my principal and chairman, Comrade Ikeogwu, and wish him well in his new office”, Ochei stated in his congratulatory message.
