The Kenneth Obieh-led state Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Delta State has concluded plans to organise a two day press week with a view to stepping up healthy living among members of the chapel.
A statement from the chapel, signed by the Chairman and the Secretary, comrades Kenneth Obieh and Ese Obote-Ogwu respectively, indicated that the press week would kick off on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 with a novelty football match between the chapel and the Asaba Chapel of the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) at the NTA play ground in Asaba, beginning from 4:00pm.
It added that there would be a medical check up of members the next day, followed with a public lecture, titled “Healthy Living In workplace”, to be delivered by Dr. Wilson Oghenekevwe, Vice-Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, Delta State, at the Labour House in Asaba at 10:00 am prompt.
The theme of the event is “Step Up To Wellness”, while the Commissioner for Information in the state, Mr. Charles Aniagwu is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour with the Chairman of the NUJ in the state, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, as the Chief Host.
In a brief chat with Comrade Obieh, who is the Host, he disclosed that special T-shirts with NUJ logo had been made available for members of the chapel to be adorned during the public lecture, saying that it would not only add colour to the occasion, but would indicate the unity of purpose among the members of the chapel.
