The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council mourns the untimely passage of a veteran journalist and a former Union leader, Mr. Henry Iloba.
At a time when we should be relying on the experiences of Mr. Iloba to move the Union forward, we lost him to the cold hand of death.
We are indeed pained by this sad event which has thrown the NUJ family in the State into mourning.
The late Henry Iloba was an easy going man, peace loving, helpful in the resolutions of tasks as far as Union matters are concerned when he was with us. As a proper Asaba man, his passion for community efforts can also not be disputed.
Until his death, he was a former Chairman of the Federal Information Chapel of NUJ and he retired as Deputy Director of National Orientation Agency (NOA).
We will indeed miss him; his fatherly care and ever available admonitions based on his vast experience in Union matters.
On this note, we sympathise with the bereaved family, even as we pray for God to grant them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
Goodbye dear senior colleague. Adieu!
Comrade Michael Ikeogwu,
NUJ Chairman,
Delta State Council.
Comrade Patrick Ochei,
NUJ Secretary,
Delta State Council.
