The National Orientation Agency ( NOA ) has engaged State Heads of Government Establishments in the 36 States of the federation as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, to showcase the activities of their Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for the citizens to understand, key into them, access the benefits which will enable Government get appropriate feedback (outcome), harness responses, impacts of its policies, programs and activities.
The Delta State Director of the Agency, Mr. John Ifeakachukwu Emah made the disclosure at a sensitization program titled “Sensitization Programme On Communicating Government Policies, Programmes And Activities” on Thursday, 18th April, 2019, at Ogwashi-Uku in Delta State.
The NOA Delta boss noted that the overall rationale behind the engagement is to ensure that Government is for the Nigerian population and equally to get an assurance of a meaningful life.
While commending the participants for high turnout, Mr Emah stated that the Government is working to create enabling environment for a meaningful future for the citizens at all level of governance.
He revealed that its in line with the NOA’s mandate on public enlightenment and mobilization, that the program was conceived as part of government’s efforts to increase the citizens awareness on government activities as well as the procedures to access the benefits of the programmes for those at grassroots and urban areas.
Declaring the program open, the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Isaac Anuzia, who was represented by Hon. Ikechukwu Nwabuoke, commended NOA for the laudable program and the good work of promoting national unity all over the country that the Agency is known for..
In his remarks, the representative of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Mr. Tony Olu identified agricultural abandonment as one of the reasons for unemployment in the country.
He disclosed that apart from taken efforts to established MDAs to accommodate many unemployed persons, the NDE created lots of vocational and skills acquisitions centers to train our youths for self employed.
Also speaking, the representative of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr. Charles Ihonor, disclosed that from 29th April, 2019, The NIS will be given the statutory right to issue 10 years validity passport for foreign travels and other transactions.
The program was attended by the 25 Local Government Areas in the State Chief Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMOs), representatives of security agencies, government workers at all levels, labour union groups, faith bound organizations amongst others.
