NOA Delta State Flags Off Voters Education Campaign

As a means of eliminating or reducing numbers of ‘Void Votes’ in the forthcoming General Elections in Nigeria, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Delta State Directorate, has flagged off its voter’s education campaign with the theme: Reducing The Incidence Of Void Votes.
The NOA Delta State Director, Mr. John Ifeakachukwu Emah, while flagging off the program at the Central Market, Ogbeogonogo in Asaba, disclosed that the sensitization campaign will cover the three Senatorial Districts of the State.
Mr. Emah noted that the exercise is essentially aimed at encouraging the electorate to have their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), and vote rightly to reduce Void Votes. He also advised the electorates to shun disorderly conduct for peaceful elections and to say no to Vote Buying.
He stated that, to ensure far-reaching impact of the political enlightenment program, the Chief Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMO) of the Agency in the twenty five Local Government Areas of the State had been mandated to simultaneously commence enlightenment program along these lines at the grassroots.
While sharing fliers and handbills with different inscriptions such as ‘Thumbprint In One Box Only’, ‘Do Not Spill Ink Into Another Box’, ‘Fold Your Ballot Paper Properly’, ,’Multiple Voting Is An Offence’, the Agency’s Assistant Director in charge of Oshimili South LGA, Mr. Uche Anyabuine, urged all eligible voters to partake in the electoral process.
He sensitized the public on how to vote wisely to avoid Void Votes. ” Let your vote count. Vote wisely. Remember it is One Man One Vote, One Woman One Vote and One Youth One Vote”. Anyabuine advocate.
While the NOA Voters Education campaign was going on, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Assistant Electoral Officer in Oshimili South, Mr. Sunday Okolocha was given out uncollected PVCs to those who came to collect theirs.
