It is no longer news that Nigeria as a country is edging dangerously close to the precipices of total collapse, what is more frightening is that Nigerians appear to be getting used to the impoverishment being unleashed on them by interlopers as their leaders.
Nigerians are in a dilemma; dilemma of leadership ! A friend put on a call, wondering if the country would ever surmount the ever dwindling fortune of the masses ! Of course, it is an arduous situation as those in the leadership are putting stumbling blocks behind them to deter the followership corrective moves.
Every move of the leaders now amounts to further impoverishment of the led. And one wonders why for a watery allowance of pap, a conscientious Nigeria should continue to aid and abet in plundering the commonwealth of Nigeria.
Who are those urging politicians to swoop on the national coffers ? Could politicians steal a dime from the public coffers without the colluding of civil servants ? Is it true that a few months after the inauguration of the present leadership of the Senate in Nigeria, the Clerk of the Red Chamber is already enticing the senators with mouth watering tokens for their break from plenary !? Could it be that politicians are no longer interested in the welfare of the masses, but their personal upkeep and that of their immediate respective families !?
Yes, it is not an absurdity any longer. Why are Nigerians in the north protesting attack on Niger Republic? Is that enclave now part of Nigeria? Could it be that the removal of Oil Subsidy was nothing to them so long as the borders of neighbouring countries remain porous and accessible to them? It was also reported that the cashless policy of Buhari-Emefiele never ruffled the northerners as the Central Bank was directed to flood the area with naira notes when it lasted !
The Nigerian masses are in a dilemma of leadership; they are not sure of the intents of the leaders; they no longer trust the leaders who had forced themselves on the masses, entrenching the unwholesome leadership with guns and orderlies paid for by the people.
Yes, the masses of Nigeria are in a dilemma of how to reclaim the mandate stolen from them by interlopers who are now like the weaver birds, rapaciously plundering their collective source of livelihood !
It is true that the greatest weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the possession and manipulation of the mind of the oppressed. Those oppressing the masses in Nigeria are indeed holding on tenaciously to this philosophy.
