Lucky Tubotu, a concerned Niger Delta youth and indigene of Bilabiri 1 Community, has issued a strong warning to Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and all other oil companies operating in the area: Do not engage with Takenane Abaka under any circumstances, as his tenure as CDC Chairman has long expired.
In a firmly worded statement from Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Tubotu cautioned that any dealings with Abaka would amount to endorsing an illegality.
Calling for Action Against an Imposter, Tubotu, stated that Takenane Abaka is an imposter who has refused to vacate office despite the expiration of his single two-year tenure on December 15, 2024. He further warned that peace would not return to the community until Abaka is arrested.
“The killers of Frank B. Seide on April 1, 2021, used violence to assume power and have since refused to relinquish office. Even after their tenure expired, they continue to impose themselves on the people through intimidation and fear.”
Also alleging a reign of terror in Bilabiri 1 Community, Tubotu described how Abaka and his allies have turned Bilabiri 1 into a stronghold of fear and oppression, where anyone opposing his illegal stay in office is met with brutal violence.
“Residents who dare to speak out are beaten, attacked, and have their phones seized. Some have suffered serious injuries, forcing the entire community to live in fear.”
He identified the expired CDC executive members, who, alongside Abaka, have refused to step down despite their tenure ending:
- Takenane Abaka – Chairman
- Ebike Adams – Secretary
- Douglas Aaron – Youth President
- Ebide Seide – Woman Leader
- Soja Dede – Highness
- Madam Deme – Former Woman Leader
“These individuals no longer have any legal authority, yet they continue to parade themselves as the CDC executive. Worse still, their allies in the community are in possession of illegal firearms, openly threatening innocent residents—especially Ebimene Abaka (alias ‘Small Fire’), a known kingpin.”
Giving a stern warning to Companies, that all deals sre null and void, Tubotu strongly cautioned SPDC and other oil companies against engaging with Abaka or his expired executive team.
“Any company or individual dealing with them does so at their own risk. Any agreement or contract entered into with these illegal actors will be considered null and void.”
In an urgently appeal to security agencies, Tubotu called on law enforcement agencies to intervene immediately, demanding the arrest of the following individuals:
- Takenane Abaka
- Ebimene Abaka (Small Fire)
- Ebike Adams
- Aaron Douglas
- Highness Soja Dede
- Esopi Wilson
- Darius Wilson
“These individuals pose a direct threat to peace in Bilabiri 1 Community. They are armed and dangerous, using illegal weapons to harass and intimidate innocent residents. Security agencies must act before the situation spirals out of control.”
Tubotu’s statement concludes with a powerful message:
“Bilabiri 1 is no longer safe. The people are living in fear. If decisive action is not taken, the oppression will continue, and the community will remain hostage to a gang of lawless individuals clinging to power for their selfish gains. The world must take notice, and justice must prevail.”
