The Member representing Aniocha Oshimili Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ngozi Lawrence Okolie, yesterday presented a motion at the National Assembly to check the exploitative possibility by Commercial Banks as a result of the implementation of the new CBN interest rate on previous loans.
Hon Okolie stated this while moving a motion of urgent public importance at the sitting of the green chambers in Abuja.
He moved;
*That the House should mandate the Committee on Banking Institutions and Banking Regulations, to liaise with the CBN, all other concerned stakeholders and financial institutions, and report back to the house in four weeks
*The house committee on legislative compliance to ensure compliance.
The resolution was agreed to by members of the House.
