In a bid to address various socio-economic issues raising in different homes due to poverty and the likes, the Federal CARES Support Unit of the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus, NG-CARES Program, has organised a 3day Zonal training on Grievance Mechanism, GRM, for GRM Officers and other relevant stakeholders.
The Commissioner for Economic Planning and Chairman, State CARES Steering Committee, Sonny Ekedayen, in his opening remark at the opening ceremony held in Asaba the state capital, noted that the NG-CARES Program, originally designed to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the most vulnerable in our society and provide support to beneficiaries, has evolved into addressing various socio-economic issues.
Ekedayen who on behalf of the Governor welcomed trainees to the state, added that the frontline responders will be more informed on how to address complaints, resolve disputes, and ensure that grievances from beneficiaries and stakeholders are handled with the highest level of professionalism.
The National Coordinator, NG-CARES, Abdulkarim Obaje, represented by Abubakar Musa, disclosed that the project has raised a lot of issues in different homes reason the training was organised to teach officers how to go about resolving these issues as well as safeguarding the credibility of the NG-CARES Program and strengthening the trust between the government and the citizens.
Meanwhile, the state Coordinator Delta CARES Program, Patience Ogbewe, in an interview with newsmen, expressed confidence on the positivity of the training and how it will help to positively boost the lifestyle of Nigerians.
