Port Harcourt, Nigeria – In a moment of pride for the Niger Delta region, Dr. Perpetua Uwechue, Finance Director of the Niger Delta Peoples Movement–Niger Delta Community Economic Development Organization (NDPM-NCEDO), has been appointed as a United Nations Global Peace Ambassador.
The announcement was met with widespread celebration, particularly among her colleagues and communities who have directly benefited from Dr. Uwechue’s tireless efforts in promoting peace and sustainable development. Known for her quiet yet impactful leadership, Dr. Uwechue has played a pivotal role in fostering unity and peace, and also spearheading numerous initiatives aimed at improving the social economic wellbeing of people across the Niger Delta.

“She doesn’t just talk about peace and development – she lives it, breathes it, and makes it real for communities,” said A. E.
