Labour Party (LP) Candidate for National Assembly, Hon. Chief Lawrence Ngozi Okolie has emerged and declared winner of the Saturday, 25 February, 2023, National Assembly Elections for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State
Ngozi Okolie, an Asaba born lawyer turned politician was the Director General of Direct Labour Agency (DLA) in the State, polled 53,879 votes to defeat his closest rival, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 33,456 votes.
The Returning Officer announced the results at the INEC collation center in Asaba on Monday, 27 February, 2023.
In his remarks, an elated Ngozi Okolie who revealed that he was impressed by the outcome of the results said he sincerely thanked everybody for the massive turnout including the Enuani (Aniocha/Oshimili) constituents for believing in him and their massive supports.
The former DG of the State DLA commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the elections.
While also commending the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency constituents for not letting the OBIDIENTS Movement of his Labour Party down in the State, Ngozi Okolie thank God for the victory which he dedicated to Enu-ani for entrusting his Party with their mandate.
“I thank God for the peaceful conduct of the elections and the opportunity to cast our votes for our preferred candidates in a free and fair contest. Luckily for me, majority of the voters have chosen me to represent the good people of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.” He added.
While saying he was humbled and sincerely grateful for this great honor bestowed on him by his people, the Member elect for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency House pledged to make good use of the opportunity to enact impactful bills that would attract development to our people.
According to Ngozi Okolie, “I am humbled and sincerely grateful for this great honor bestowed on me by our people. Now that the elections have come and gone, let us always remember that we are all winners in the contest, and shall continue to remain friends, brothers and sisters.
“I have called the other candidates to offer my hand of fellowship and continued friendship. Although I have not been able to reach some, I shall not relent in my efforts to reach out to everyone of them.
“To me, politics should be a game, and I intend that it remains so. I have won with your massive support today, someone else may win tomorrow. But, no matter who wins, the betterment of our people remains the cardinal objective. And, in this compelling duty to improve the lot of our federal constituency, I shall always count on your advice, support, and prayers.
“Hoping that with the beneficence of the Most High God, our collective efforts would be crowned with success.
