The immediate past Special Adviser to Delta State Governor, Senator (Dr.) Okowa on SERVICOM and Labour Relations, Comrade Mike Okeme has described his late mother as a woman of substance.
Comrade Okeme , who stated this during the burial of his mother, late Mrs. Sarah Tahor Okotie, at Orhuwhorun in Udu Local Government Area of the state, described death as an innevitable end of all human activities on earth.
He said that everyone on earth had an appointed time with God to die but only once and thanked God for a life well spent of Mrs Okotie.
The veteran labour leader recalled how his mother had struggled in the past to raise him and his siblings, adding that late Mrs. Okotie was a hard working woman who lived most of her life in Ibadan, Oyo state.
He stated the deceased was always accomodating to all , nothing that after the death of Pa Richard Aduwaye Okeme in 1964 and that when her mourning period was over, she married to Mr. Felix Kasifor Okotie of Aladja.
He said that the deceased belonged to the choir in Orhuwhorun when she was young , adding that she was a gifted and talented singer even in her old age.
Comrade Okeme recalled that she was always giving out advice on morality and value of one’s virginity to young boys and girls alike and was always encouraging them her children to bring home their friends where she also welcomes them and cook for them all, sharing in their joy and sorrows.
He said that the late Mrs. Okotie taught him and his siblings perseverance and endurance in life challenges and was always encouraging them that at the end they would surely reap the benefits and fruits of their labour.
The occasion was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life especially the labour Unions.
