The Movement For The Survival Of Ijaw Ethnic Nationality in Niger Delta (MOSIEND), have felicitated and thrown weight and supports to the ongoing ENDSARS protest.
The group in a statement issued by its National Vice President Comrade (High Chief) Thompson Fuoye, during the EndSARS protest at the Interbau roundabout/flyover, Asaba last Saturday, said, the time has come for youths in the country to take their life and destiny in their hands and demand accountability from leaders in position of authority.
Comrade Fuoye, who batched on the ENDSARS protesters to ascertain their conduct and genuineness of the protest, commended Nigeria youths for their unity and collective resolve in combating the menace that the SARS outfit has caused in the country.
Quoting the lyrics of Late Robert Nester Marley; he said; “You can fool some people, some times, but you can’t fool all the people, all the time, because when they see the light, they gonna stand up for their right!”.
Reacting to the speculation of Pro SARS group in the Northern part of the country, the MOSIEND National Vice President advised the Nigeria Northern governors to desist from regional attitudes and be more statesmen rather than sponsoring their already impoverished youths against peoples desire.
He said Northern leaders should see the ENDSARS protest as a road to rights the many wrongs going on in the country. He added that, shortly the protest will be narrowed down to specific demands in every State and Local Government areas demanding stewardship and accountability from various the leaders.
On the flooding currently ravaging the Niger Delta region, Comrade Fuoye disclosed that since charity they say begins at home, he has directed all MOSIEND Clans and Zonal Structures to their communities within western zone (Delta, Edo and Ondo States) which is his jurisdiction, to capture all the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Federal and State Governments Projects claimed to be awarded and left abandon.
While appealing to government at all levels to come to the aid of suffering flood victims, Comrade Fuoye asserted that, the current flooding ravaging their communities have shown clearly there is need for a collective engagement with those who has not done what they are suppose to do to better the lots of the people.
“I really sympathised with flood victims. So if you have not done well as a goverment ,political appointee, or as elected public office holder, better resign now because the next is you”. He added
