Following the explosion and fire outbreak that wrecked havoc at Matrix Energy Resources Ltd, Ifiekporo, near Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, The Olu Of Warri, yesterday sent delegation from his Palace to commiserate with the management of the oil company and Ifie-Kporo community over the outbreak in the facility.
The delegation from the Olu Of Warri’s Palace which was led by Chief Johnson Ibranadu Amatsereuleghe (JP) Alpha, The Iyatsere Of Warri Kingdom and Chief Eugene Ikomi (The Olulaye Of Warri) confirmed that equipment and goods worth millions of Nairas were damaged in the facility.
The Olu of Warri delegation also ascertained that many were hospitalized, with three persons with critical issue, but not anyone confirm dead as at the time of visit,
While in audience with the management of Matrix Energy Resources Ltd and the Executives and representatives of Ifie-kporo Community on plans to make a thorough check around on both Land and Water to ensure no victim is missing, The Iyatsere of Warri led delegation assured the Company of stakeholders meeting between the Olu’s Palace, Matrix Energy Resources and Management of all other facilities in the Kingdom to plan and ensure measures were put in place to curtail and prevent future reoccurrence in all the areas where such Facilities are located in Warri Kingdom.
The Olu Palace delegation and Matrix Energy Resources commended Ifie-kporo Community for the role they played in extinguishing the fire at the Facility and also for not making issues out of the incident.
Other Notable Personalities present at the visit includes the Delta State Hon. Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, Chairman Warri South LGA, Dr. Michael Tidi ,INYC Rep., Comr. Richard Dere Jarikpe amongst others.
