The immediate past Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area, and flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the forthcoming Delta State Council Elections, Hon. Eugene Inoaghan has commended the State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Inoaghan gave the commendations while feeding questions from journalists yesterday in Sapele, at the NUJ Platform “A One on One Chat with Local Government Chairmanship Candidates of Political Parties in Delta State”.
The renowned local government administrator maintained that the NUJ Platform afforded political party candidates vying for the scheduled March 6 Council Elections the opportunity to unveiled future workingplans for their local government areas to the electorate.
While promising to fix failed portions of Cemetery road and any other with similar situation in Sapele when re-elected , Inoaghan disclosed that he graded and resurfaced lots of roads in Sapele during his first tenure and promised to do more.
He said his Government, as Chairman of Sapele LGA provided necessary needed palliatives ranging from market shops rents reduction, grading of roads, scholarship to pupils with good grades and as well as addressing security challenges in the LGA.
“I gave scholarship to pupils with good performances. We ensured that peace reign in Sapele. We brought more security personnel to Sapele to beef up security”. He added
While assuring the restoration of peace in his second tenure, Inoaghan noted that security is a national issue and appealed to Sapele residents to help with necessary information that would help restore peace to constituted authority.
He revealed that the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) is organizing prayers for restoration of peace next week at the Sapele township Stadium.
The Sapele LGA PDP flagbearer, who pledged to bring investors to make Sapele the business hub of the State, urged residents to keep the State clean and to register with PSP for proper waste disposal.
“Environmental sanitation should not be only monthly but weekly, so as to keep Sapele clean, attractive and conducive for investors to come”. He stated

While thanking Gov Okowa for his support so far, Inoaghan disclosed that the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa never interfere with LG allocation but instead augmenting to enable council chairmen pay salaries of workers.
“Without Gov Okowa’s supports, many council will not be able to pay salaries let alone executing other projects, because the monthly Federal allocation is too meager to cartter for the need of the Council”. He said.
