Delta state created on August 27, 1991, is the best gift from God to mankind. The multiplicity of rich ethnic groups blessed with diverse wealth of creative and productive individuals, are testimonies of the Big Heart.
As important as it is to protect the human heart, the arteries which constantly supplies blood to other parts of the body, needs same protection. A damage to an artery, can lead to fatality.
Dearest Deltans, the foundation of legacy developments instituted by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration, needs our collective protection through sustainable efforts in a must-crusade to elect individuals who posses the requisite knowledge in leading Deltans through an open door policy on the path of One Delta Agenda.
Governor Okowa, a refined politician with a heart of gold has in good faith laid a solid foundation for future developments. His legacy projects and programmes stand tall to the skies and pierces deep to the earth crust.
Okowa is not exiting the doors of Government House Asaba with any of these projects in his pockets but have evenly established them across the state, joyfully engraved in the hearts of Deltans and built to last for the benefit of generations to come.
Least we forgot, Okowa couldn’t have achieved these in one stroke. The resilient support of the Delta State House of Assembly, pruned off the mountainous barriers to actualising a Smarter and Stronger Delta.
The exceptional 29 members of the State Assembly, served God’s purpose for Deltans through the divine leadership of Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori who steered a historic legislature for the past Six years.
Democratically elected by our representatives to be Speaker, he dedicated his life for service, putting the development of the state and the happiness of Deltans first which energised the array of successes recorded by the Okowa-led administration.
A man who never chose himself but was called by the people unto leadership, Oborevwori was again, overwhelmingly elected by over 80 percent of PDP delegates to be their flag-bearer. This public trust by party faithful representing the various wards in the state, is a true reflection of his acceptability and reward for beautiful leadership so far.
The shoes to be left behind by Governor Okowa, is not for the fainthearted, opportunists or strangers to step in, but for a man trusted by Deltans to continue the path with the working map of a Stronger Delta Agenda.
The stakes are high and the future of our dear state needs our collective efforts to sustain the good works God has started. It is in this light that Delta Stability Forum (DSF) calls on Deltans to turn en masse to elect Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as our next governor, for continuity of the legacy projects and programmes laid down by the Okowa-led administration.
Just like our father, Governor Okowa has posited, “a vote for the party’s candidates in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections would ensure sustainable development of the state,” noting that, “just as his administration had continued and completed some of the major projects embarked upon by his successor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, a vote for Oborevwori would ensure completion of his administration’s laudable projects across the state.”
Worthy of note is have a seamless transition to a PDP government to ensure the completion of the multi-billion naira Orere bridge linking 15 communities in Ewu clan, Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state which the Okowa’s administration was spending about N20billion.
“This bridge will connect as much as 15 communities and the road will eventually connect Bomadi. This project will not be completed in my tenure but obviously a lot of work has been done up to 55 percent completion.
“The bridge is spanning 500 metres which is obviously a very huge bridge and beyond that we also have 4.5km of which we are going to construct.
“Its obviously a huge project but we have gone this far and I have been told its about 55 percent completed so we need somebody who will be ready to continue with the project and other major projects that dot across the state,”
“I want to urge all Deltans that in the best interest of continuity and in the best interest of peace and continuing development and the unity of our people, its important that Deltans come out enmasse to vote Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori who has been a part of all the projects that we have continued to do.
“He has been Speaker of the State House of Assembly and he has a clear understanding of our vision and the infrastructural development efforts of this administration.
“While starting his own projects, he will ensure that all ongoing projects are completed at the end of the day just as we have continued to ensure the completion of the projects started by Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan.
“It’s important that Deltans do realise this, he is focused and I believe that he is able and capable to administer the state in the best interest of all.
“He is not a greedy man and I know for sure that he is somebody who is able to honour both the rich and the poor, he is somebody who is able to honour all facets of our people and that is exactly what we need in need in Delta State,” Okowa said.
Our vote for Oborevwori would ensure completion of all ongoing projects and sustainable development of the state.
