The Bauchi State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar has called on the relevant stakeholders to come to the aid of members of War Against Indiscipline (Wai-Brigade) in order to promote discipline in the society.
The Chief Judge made the call at the closing ceremony of a five day orientation camp organized by the State Command of the Brigade held at Game Village Bauchi.
Justice Rabi Talatu Umar, who was represented by Barrister Sambuwal, noted that for the present administration to achieve it’s objective of change mantra, members of Wai-Brigade must be empowered.
The Chief Judge therefore called on the security agencies especially the police to support members of Wai-Brigade in the discharge of their responsibilities so as to achieve the set objectives.
Speaking shortly after receiving an award of excellence from members of the brigade, the State Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar recalled that in the past, members of the group have assisted towards ensuring discipline in the country.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Agricultural and Natural Resources, Barrister Yakubu Kirfi, the governor pledged his administration’s support to the state command of the brigade for attitudinal change among the people of the state.
In a remark, the State Director, National Orientation Agency Alhaji Nuru Yusuf Kobi said the knowledge acquired by the participants will assist them to assist security agencies towards ensuring orderliness at polling units during elections.
In a welcome address, the North East Zonal Commander of the Brigade, Alhaji Zayyanu Musa Wunti recalled that Wai-Brigade was established in 1984 to promote discipline in the society for national development.
Zayyanu Musa Wunti who said Bauchi State Command of the Brigade has over two thousand members across the state, solicited the support of all for better performance.
