The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Delta South Senatorial District in the forthcoming 2023 General elections, Hon.Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, has congratulated every girl child locally and internationally as the world marks International Day Of The Girl Child.
Hon. Joel-Onowakpo made this known in a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to pressmen in Delta State to identify with the girl child on this special day set aside to raise awareness on issues affecting them.
While stressing g the significance of the day’s celebration, the APC Delta South Senatorial District candidate said there was no gainsaying the fact that the girl child remains an integral part of societal growth and development as the girl child of today will eventually become a great mother tomorrow.
According to Hon. Joel-Onowakpo, “Today marks International Day of the Girl Child. It is a day set aside by the United Nations to celebrate the girl child, raising awareness and the importance of the girl child in the world.”
“Every girl child is worthy to be celebrated locally and internationally. Our girl’s child today is our mother’s tomorrow. God has destined the girl child, our mothers of today to perform quality roles in humanity and the behavioral development of our children.”
“As a politician, women have continued to play significant roles in voting, child-bearing, and home development”.
“We must promote girl education, health, and nutrition. We must not allow the girl’s child to experience gender inequality, female infanticide, discrimination, sexual abuse, violence, etc. To train a girl child is to train a nation. We must empower, protect and amplify the voices of the girl’s child today. To every girl child in Delta South Senatorial District, I celebrate you greatly.”
Hon. Joel-Onowakpo also seized the opportunity to appreciate his teeming supporters for standing by him, urging them to continue to win more souls for his political political to increase the votes for him and his party.
He expressed confidence in the ability of his party to winning the governorship seat in Delta State and other elective offices come 2023.
